Krista Ojasaar

Krista Ojasaar (born 22 XI 1975) is a poet.
Ojasaar studied Estonian and Finno-Ugric philology at the University of Tartu and in 2008 defended her master’s degree in the speciality of culture management at the same university. She has worked at the Estonian Literary Society and Ministry of Culture. Since 2010, she has been working at the Estonian Literary Museum. Ojasaar is a member of the Estonian Literary Society, the Learned Estonian Society, the Estonian PEN-club and the Estonian Writers’ Union (from 2011).

Krista Ojasaar has published four poetry collections. Her first poetry collection Hommikused unenäod (‘Morning Dreams’) came out in 2006. The book includes the young author’s poems from the early 1990s as well as later poetry. Krista Ojasaar’s poetry is written in free verse. Critics have noticed the dreamy and dusky atmosphere of her creation, which sometimes reveals sharper imaginary pictures with a surrealist slant. The pictoriality of Ojasaar’s poems excites imagination by being fascinating and enigmatic.
