HUMA SÜGISKOOL 2023

8. humanitaarteaduste magistrikooli (HUMA) sügiskool toimub 16.–17. novembril 2023 Tartu Ülikooli Raamatukogus. Konverents toimub eesti ja inglise keeles.

Sügiskooli eesmärgiks on anda humanitaarvaldkonna magistrantidele võimalus pidada populaarteaduslik ettekanne oma magistritöö teemal ja saada tagasisidet erinevate erialade õppejõududelt ja üliõpilastelt. Ettekandega on oodatud osalema eeskätt 2. aasta magistrandid, kuid 1. aasta magistrandid on kutsutud koostama posterettekande.

Ettekandeks on aega 15 minutit, millele järgneb 15 minutit diskussiooni.

Sügiskooli ettekanne ei ole mõeldud niivõrd erialaspetsialistidele, kuivõrd laiemale, interdistsiplinaarsele kuulajaskonnale. Oskus oma eriala populariseerida on tänases akadeemilises maailmas väga oluline. Sügiskooli ettekannet ette valmistades tuleks mõelda sellele, kuidas selgitada oma uurimisprobleemi ja erialast lähenemist teise eriala inimestele ja miks antud uurimistöö on ühiskonnale oluline. Ettekannete pealkirju ja teese (200 sõna) soovime saada 29. oktoobriks.

28. septemebril kl 18.00 toimub tööpaja „Akadeemilise ettekande vormid humanitaarias“, mille viivad läbi prof. Raili Marling (inglise keeles, Ülikooli 16 ruumis 214) ja prof. Liina Lukas (eesti keeles, Ülikooli 16 ruumis 109). Tööpajas harjutatakse seda, kuidas sõnastada ettekande pealkirja, koostada teese, valmistuda ettekandeks. Saate teada, mis on posterettekanne humanitaarias. Palume tööpajale registreeruda hiljemalt 24. septembriks, mida saad teha siin: REGISTREERU

Dear Masters students!

The annual Graduate School of Humanities (HUMA) Autumn school is coming again! The 8th conference will take place during 16-17 of November at the University of Tartu Library. The event brings together students and lecturers throughout the humaniora field. The conference will be held in both English and Estonian. 

The aim of the Autumn school is to give masters students the opportunity to give a presentation about their thesis and receive feedback from both professors and students from different faculties. The presentations will be held by 2nd year masters students, but 1st year students can also try out a poster presentation.

Presentations should last no longer than 15 minutes and are followed by 15 minutes of discussions and feedback. 

The Autumn School is not intended only for specialists in a certain field, but is rather meant for an interdisciplinary audience. The ability to popularise your field of study to a wider audience is a must in today's academic world. When preparing for a presentation, you should focus on how to explain your research question(s) and how to explain them to people from another field of study.  Deadline for the presentation's title and a 200 word thesis is Octobre 29.

To prepare for the presentation you can attend the workshop "Forms of Academic Presentation in Humanities" of the HUMA Autumn School. It will be held on September 28 at 18:00. Workshops will be conducted in both English (by prof. Raili Marling at Ülikooli 16, class 214) and Estonian (by prof. Liina Lukas at Ülikooli 16, class 106). The workshop focuses on how to formulate a presentation title, prepare an abstract and how to present your topic. Also it will give insights on poster presentation and what they are. We kindly ask to register yourself to the workshop before the 24th of September. REGISTRATION FORM
